Opening Title Sequence Analysis

Our Openining Title Sequence begins with a slow roll up of text that tells the audience what is about to happen in the film. We took this idea from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974 film. By adding a short summary before the film begins, it sets the scene for the film and lets the audience know that there is going to be some horrors shown during the movie. The atmosphere is created as there is just silence from the audience with a man's voice reading out the text. Making it feel scary due to there being no noise and people waiting for what's going to happen next.

Title of Our Film

The name HIJACKED is the title for our film as it describes how our antagonist captures his victims. We used capital letters as it makes it stand out and attracts audiences when on packaging. Jack is coloured red which connotates blood, anger and danger. In addition, it shows who the main character of our film is - Jack Marshall. The rest of the lettering is black because it's a dark colour and is commonly used for horror film titles. The mixture of the 2 colours also emphasise the film is the genre of horror.

Location Location Location

Our location for our film would take place in Chilwell. The 2 streets used would be Chetwynd Road and Thompson Close. These 2 streets lead off from each other making there be no need to travel far for each of the scenes. The shop is a good choice as it's a small corner shop, which is the right characteristic for our film and also the actual look of the shop has the style that we are looking for as it looks quite vintage. The street is very residential, creating the atmosphere we want for our film as it a setting where you wouldn't expect a horror film to take place.

Funding For CharCol Film

There are many production companies:

The production company that CharCol would use for funding is:

Miramax Films is an American entertainment company known for distributing independent and foreign films. Our film fits into the characteristics needed for Miramas Films. This company is best for our film due to it being a company that has catapulted independent films into the mainstream audiences and abled them notice the film.

CharCol Company

Mine and Simone's production company's name is CharCol. It's a combination of our last names... Charles and Collins. The font of our logo is Onyx. We chose this font as it made the writing look classic. After going on Artofthetitle.com it showed how important colours were to attract attention to an audience and other film companies wanting to work with us. The colour white connotates pure and stands out on a darker background. It's also simplicit. Making the audience not feel overwhelmed by the logo. The background colour for our company is a mutual colour attracting both male and female.

Scary Images

When we first see these images we all feel uncomfortable and scared. We don't want to look but we can't help ourselves. One reason why we look at these images is to see if they look fake. If they do, then we aren't as scared. We tend to find it funny if they look unrealitic.
It varies between each person as what they class as scary. The most common scares people have are blood, clowns andghosts . All of those types of fears are from childhood.
Some of these images are of famous antagonists from horror films. Their faces are either scarred or covered up. This is done to give the impression that they've gone through much turmoil and to create mystery to their lives causing the audience to fear them even more.
The pictures of children portray innocence throughout every aspect of life, so when they are shown as the antagonist, it causes people to be scared of something they thought they never would be.
